Are you passionate about making a real difference in the world? Do you believe in the power of education to transform lives? The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) invites you to become part of a community that is reinventing education for the 21st century. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation, shaping not just individual lives but entire communities.
At EVSC, we foster a supportive environment where collaboration feels like family. We provide cutting-edge resources and innovative teaching tools to make learning exciting for both educators and students. We are committed to stability and flexibility, offering a schedule that respects work-life balance with summers off, holidays, and predictable hours.
This position is a 1:1 Special Education Assistant role based at Harrison High School. You will partner closely with teachers to support a specific student throughout the school year, beginning one day before school starts and ending on the last day. Your work will ripple through time, directly impacting the life of the student you support.
While you will work in an assigned category, you must be prepared to support the needs of all students when necessary. If the student you support transfers to another EVSC school, this position will follow them. You will be an integral part of the daily routine, assisting with classroom operations, instructional materials, and student management. In specific settings, you may also assist with personal care needs, including feeding and hygiene, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for every student.
This vacancy is posted first for internal EVSC Special Education Paraprofessional transfers. If no internal transfer takes place, outside applicants will be reviewed and considered. The interview committee will give preference to candidates who, through the interview process, past experience, and references, have demonstrated the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and the community.
If you have questions regarding this opportunity, please email Katie Johnson at katie1.johnson@evsck12.com. You will receive a response within 24-48 hours.
