As a Regional Team Head Coach, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the competitive landscape for our climbers, ensuring that every session is a blend of rigorous training, fun, and personal growth.
About the Role
This position serves as the bridge between our competitive team programs and our broader gym community. You will be responsible for developing and coaching a competitive team program across all Touchstone gyms in your region. Your day-to-day involves creating and implementing training curricula that challenge climbers to reach national-level standards while maintaining a positive, engaging atmosphere.
You will act as a mentor to young climbers, helping them navigate the complexities of competition climbing, from mastering technique to developing a growth mindset. Beyond the gym floor, you will collaborate closely with gym managers to ensure the team program integrates seamlessly with daily operations, balancing the needs of competitive athletes with the experience of general members. You will also manage the coaching staff, coordinate logistics for competitions and travel, and serve as a key communicator with parents and the Youth Programs Director.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleSchedule coaches for competitions and plan all related travel logistics
- check_circleManage and train the regional coaching staff while hosting periodic program meetings
- check_circleCommunicate regularly with parents regarding schedules, performance, and behavioral updates
- check_circleDesign and implement training curriculum for competitive teams across the region
- check_circleCoach climbers during practices and competitions while providing technical feedback
- check_circleReport team performance data and incidents to the Head of Youth Programs and gym managers
- check_circleOversee safety protocols during training and manage impact on general gym members
- check_circleMaintain current USAC coaching certification and ensure compliance with competition rules
- check_circleManage team administrative tasks including USAC registration, billing, and roster accuracy
- check_circlePlan and execute team events such as training camps, mock competitions, and get-togethers
- check_circleCollaborate with routesetting and climbing club departments to ensure program consistency
- check_circleCoordinate regional team tryouts and manage waitlists for team placement
