About the Role
The North Little Rock School District is seeking dedicated support staff to ensure a safe, orderly, and positive environment for our students. These positions are vital to the daily rhythm of the school, focusing on student supervision, safety, and community well-being during key transition times.
Lunch Aide / Recess Aide
As a Lunch or Recess Aide, you will be the eyes and ears of the cafeteria and playground. Your primary mission is to maintain a cooperative atmosphere where students can socialize and eat safely. You will circulate among tables and play areas to assist children, resolve minor conflicts, and encourage positive social interactions.
Your day involves more than just supervision; you will manage noise levels, assist with cleanup, and provide specific support to students with special needs. If serious disciplinary issues or health concerns arise, you serve as the first line of communication to building administration. During inclement weather, you will also support indoor recess activities and help organize games to keep students engaged.
Early Morning Aide and Crossing Guard
In this critical safety role, you will direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic at designated locations to ensure students can cross streets safely. You will monitor traffic flow to identify safe gaps for crossing, stop traffic as necessary, and escort pedestrians to their destinations. This role requires constant vigilance and effective communication to manage the flow of students and vehicles during the morning rush.
