This position is based at Thacher Elementary School within the Insights Program. The program provides a highly structured environment that uses the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to develop social, behavioral, communication, and academic skills. Students receive individualized and small-group instruction and staff supports.
As a Special Education ABA Specialist, you will work under the direct supervision of a certified staff member to assist professional staff in helping students meet their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals. Your day will involve implementing interventions and de-escalation strategies for students with significant behavioral issues, collecting accurate data on student progress, and collaborating with the team to foster student success. You will also assist students with activities of daily living, such as toileting, and supervise non-instructional areas like lunch programs and bus duty to maximize student participation in learning activities.
