This position serves as the strategic clinical leader for all perioperative information technology systems within the health system. Acting as an internal consultant, resource expert, and instructor, the role bridges the gap between clinical nursing practice and IT infrastructure. The primary mission is to ensure standardized, required, and timely documentation by leveraging evidence-based resources, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
The role is designed to foster an environment that values research, knowledge, and professional development. You will lead and plan performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives that support the creation of educational programs to facilitate research into nursing practices. A key component of the day-to-day work involves performing outcomes analysis on current programs to determine necessary modifications that enhance patient outcomes, staff performance, and clinical competence.
In this capacity, you will provide direct leadership and support to a team including the Laser Safety Nurse, Division Nurse Educators, Perioperative Informatics Nurse, and Clinical Quality Nurse Leaders. Your work will directly influence the strategic direction of competency-based learning across multi-disciplinary healthcare settings.
