Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Principal Specialist) to join our talented team in Aurora, CO. In this onsite role, you will serve as a technical subject matter expert for critical software products, interfacing daily with Prime customers on mission execution.
You will be responsible for evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service, as well as leading the integration and verification of new baselines. This position requires the ability to perform in-depth analysis of complex systems with an end-to-end perspective. You will work autonomously or lead teams to develop software tools, troubleshoot system errors, and determine the operational feasibility of software modifications. The role demands a high level of independence to support tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining rigorous standards in a 24x7 large Operations and Maintenance (O&M) environment.

Experience working in a 24x7 large O&M environment. Experience with programming languages COBOL, FORTRAN, or PASCAL. Experience with database management and utilization. Experience working in a structured configuration-controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time software applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract. Experience with analytical skills and the ability to recommend and implement solutions to software engineering problems and issues (some of which may occur outside normal day staff hours). Experience with Linux/Unix, GIT, and SQL. Experience with current IC or DoD operational environments and policies or supporting operational systems.
