Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Principal Specialist) to join our talented team in Aurora, CO. This role is critical for evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service, as well as managing the integration and verification of new software baselines.
As a technical subject matter expert, you will interface daily with Prime customers on mission execution. You will be expected to troubleshoot and isolate sources of system errors or unexpected performance across multiple operating systems and hardware platforms. The role requires an end-to-end perspective to perform in-depth analysis of complex systems in operations. While you will work autonomously to develop software tools that complement maintenance activities, you may also lead teams and perform team leadership duties. Success in this position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Experience working in a 24x7 large O&M environment. Experience with programming languages COBOL, FORTRAN, or PASCAL. Experience with database management and utilization. Experience working in a structured configuration-controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time software applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract. Experience with analytical skills and the ability to recommend and implement solutions to software engineering problems and issues (some of which may occur outside normal day staff hours). Experience with Linux/Unix, GIT, and SQL. Experience with current IC or DoD operational environments and policies or supporting operational systems.
