About the Role
Bowhead is seeking a Software Developer to serve as a technical leader on the Nautical contract, supporting a critical customer in the Arlington, VA area. This position is pivotal in the modernization of legacy Department of Defense (DoD) systems, requiring advanced expertise in cloud-native development, architecture design, and team leadership.
As a key member of the team, you will drive technical decision-making for legacy application migration strategies and lead the architectural design of complex cloud-native applications. Your day-to-day involves mentoring junior and mid-level developers, establishing coding standards, and collaborating with system architects to define integration strategies. You will also interface with government stakeholders and external partners in working groups to ensure technical solutions meet mission needs.
This role is based near a metro station in Arlington, VA. While the position requires on-site presence due to security and work requirements, a travel stipend may be provided if necessary. US Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this contract.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be able to maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility. The selection process will evaluate technical proficiency in cloud-native architectures, leadership capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex DoD compliance frameworks.
