With approximately 15,000 employees driven by integrity and mission focus, the company serves U.S. federal government customers with a deep commitment to redefining ingenuity through domain expertise. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, SAIC supports large, complex projects by enabling systems engineering and integration offerings that meet critical national needs.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a team of in-office engineers dedicated to modernizing Naval Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems for MK48 torpedoes, specifically the MK660 and MK710 ATE systems. You will work hands-on with both the torpedo hardware and the sophisticated test equipment required to validate them.
In this supporting role, you will engage in the design, development, and testing of ATE software. The position is designed to provide significant upward mobility, allowing you to evolve from a contributor to a leading role as you gain expertise. A core aspect of the work involves analyzing legacy documentation to understand system operations, followed by the challenging task of reading, translating, and reverse-engineering legacy PASCAL software routines into modern supported languages such as C++, LabVIEW, and Test Stand. You will also be responsible for the test and checkout of the software you develop.
As you progress, you will become a subject matter expert on the software for multiple ATE systems, supporting both their initial design and long-term sustainment. You will collaborate alongside skilled, self-motivated peers to design state-of-the-art test systems for the Navy, requiring the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and autonomously overcome technical hurdles.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. The role is based in Middletown, RI, and requires on-site presence (ORA_ON_SITE) with no travel required. The schedule is full-time with day shifts.
SAIC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, gender, or other protected characteristics.
