This position serves as a vital storyteller for Omaha Public Schools, dedicated to amplifying district narratives across social media channels. Working in close partnership with multimedia specialists and the District Communications team, the role is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive social media strategy. The focus is on tailoring content to diverse audiences—including students, staff, families, and the broader community—while adhering to platform best practices to support the district's overarching communication objectives.
Beyond content creation, the incumbent acts as a key support in managing internal and external communications. This includes assisting with the deployment of critical issue and crisis communications to ensure clear, timely, and effective messaging for families and schools during significant events.
You will operate within the External Relations team, reporting directly to the External Relations Administrator. Success in this role requires collaborating with a diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including district personnel, customers, and vendors. The position demands a high degree of tact and diplomacy when interacting with the district's varied population, ensuring all communications maintain a positive, professional image of Omaha Public Schools.
