About the Role

As a teacher at Global Village Academy, you will develop, plan, and implement curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs within your areas of expertise. Your mission is to use effective methods to promote exemplary critical thinking and foster achievement for all students. You will facilitate children's physical, cognitive, and social-emotional learning through lessons designed to sequentially develop skills appropriate to their ability and confidence levels. The role requires providing engaging, fun, and effective instruction that helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding.

The Day-to-Day

You will work in a school-based setting with regular interaction with students, staff, and families. Your day involves teaching knowledge and skills in social studies education, utilizing curriculum and other appropriate learning activities. You will analyze, demonstrate, and explain basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of games and fundamentals of body movement. A key part of your role is managing behavior problems on an individual basis while teaching problem-solving skills that lead to peaceful conflict resolution. You will maintain excellent communication with parents throughout the school year to resolve behavioral and academic problems and help students develop positive self-concepts.
