The International Center for Language Studies (ICLS) is a woman-owned, independent language school based in Washington, DC. Celebrating over 58 years of service, ICLS delivers high-quality training in ESL and more than 85 foreign languages. Our mission is to offer student-centered language programs that develop authentic target language use, focus on individual goals, and enable students to succeed in a global environment.
ICLS is contracted by the Department of State's National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC), formerly the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), to provide and manage a team of high-quality Language and Culture Instructors, Testers, Raters, Distance Learning Mentors, Curriculum Specialists, and Digital Media Editors. This role supports the School of Language Studies (SLS) at the NFATC campus in Arlington, Virginia.
As a Language Instructor, you will join a dedicated project team to support the training of U.S. government personnel. You will be expected to be an educated native or near-native speaker of the target language, possessing the cultural background of the specific country or region where the language is spoken. In this capacity, you will teach adult learners in a classroom setting, focusing on authentic language use and individual student goals.
The role may also involve administering proficiency-based assessments (such as DLPT, ACTFL, or OPI) and utilizing online meeting software for instruction. Whether working full-time or part-time, you will contribute to a mission-driven environment that values cultural expertise and high-level language proficiency.

The International Center for Language Studies, operating as ICLS, is an education administration program based in Washington, District of Columbia.
