Rashkis Elementary School is part of Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS), where the core mission is to provide every student with the support, counseling, and learning experiences necessary to achieve their educational goals. As a World Language Teacher (Spanish), you will guide students in mastering a new language while cultivating the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Your goal is to create a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of elementary students.
In this role, you will translate the NC Standard Course of Study into engaging learning experiences. You will develop lesson plans and instructional materials that adapt the curriculum to the unique needs of each pupil, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media. Beyond academics, you will establish clear behavioral standards, evaluate student growth, and communicate regularly with parents to discuss progress and the school program.
You will also collaborate with professional staff to address student health and learning challenges, supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, and participate in curriculum development and faculty committees. This position offers the opportunity to sponsor pupil activities and contribute to the vibrant school community.
Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a North Carolina Professional Educator's license in the assigned area and possess a Bachelor's Degree. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Interested applicants should review the CHCCS Salary Schedule for certified positions and ensure they meet the eligibility requirements for the 10-month work schedule starting August 17, 2026.
