The SkillBridge initiative, hosted at skillbridge.osd.mil, offers a unique 6-month (24-week) opportunity for transitioning service members to gain real-world experience in the civilian workforce. This specific role is designed as a trainee position within the Maximus recruitment marketing team, bridging the gap between military service and a career in digital advertising and talent acquisition.
As a Digital Advertising Recruitment Associate Specialist, you will serve as a vital support member to the team responsible for attracting high-quality applicants through strategic marketing. Your journey begins with a two-week orientation to understand Maximus's culture, recruitment marketing fundamentals, and core concepts.
For the bulk of the program (Weeks 3–22), you will transition into active execution. You will assist in planning and deploying integrated marketing campaigns, crafting audience segments, and building email nurture sequences. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating on content and creative assets, managing digital and social advertising platforms, and supporting the promotion of recruitment events across various channels. You will also gain hands-on experience with performance analytics, learning to track, report, and measure campaign success through optimization and A/B testing.
Throughout your tenure, you will act as a brand ambassador at virtual and on-site career fairs, assist with career website updates, and ensure all activities align with brand and compliance standards. The role concludes with a final review, documentation, and program evaluation in the last two weeks.
