The SkillBridge initiative, hosted at skillbridge.osd.mil, offers a unique 6-month (24-week) opportunity for transitioning service members to gain real-world experience in the civilian workforce. This specific track places you within Maximus's recruitment marketing team, bridging the gap between military service and a career in talent acquisition strategy.
As a Digital Advertising Recruitment Associate Specialist, you will serve as a vital support to the team planning, executing, and optimizing digital recruitment campaigns. This role is designed to immerse you in the full lifecycle of employer branding and candidate engagement. You will move beyond theory to hands-on execution, assisting with everything from crafting integrated marketing campaigns and building talent communities to managing social media, creating graphics, and auditing landing pages.
Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with recruiters and cross-functional partners to promote hiring events, develop email nurture sequences, and analyze performance metrics. You will act as a brand ambassador at virtual and on-site career fairs, ensuring Maximus's mission and culture are effectively communicated to high-quality applicants. The program culminates in a final review where you will document your learnings and propose continuous improvements to the recruitment process.
Your 24-week journey is structured to build your expertise progressively:
Weeks 1-2: Orientation & Fundamentals Begin by understanding Maximus's core values, recruitment marketing basics, and the essential concepts driving the industry.
Weeks 3-22: Campaign Planning & Execution Dive deep into the operational side of recruitment marketing. You will gain hands-on experience with digital and social advertising platforms, support the creation of marketing content, and assist in campaign optimization and A/B testing. This phase also covers stakeholder collaboration, compliance, brand consistency, and industry research to keep you ahead of recruiting trends.
Weeks 23-24: Wrap-Up & Transition Conclude your program with a final review, comprehensive documentation of your work, and a formal program evaluation to prepare you for your next career step.
