As a Flight Simulator Pilot Instructor, you will embark on a new journey to tackle challenges with flexibility and grace. You will conduct the simulator phase of pilot flight instruction, providing training in a variety of environments including classrooms, Cockpit Procedures Trainers, Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers, System Trainers, and Flight Simulators. Your role involves evaluating student performance, recommending pilots for checks, and assisting in the development of technically accurate courseware and curriculum. You will also have the opportunity to train other instructors and fill open seats for Captain or First Officer training as required.
Candidates must be evaluated and accepted by an instructor selection board made up of American Airlines management pilots or their designees. Prior to being considered a qualified instructor, candidates must teach a qualification or continuing qualification simulator session observed by the Fleet Training Manager or their designee. After completing instructor training, candidates must demonstrate a competent ability to perform all curriculum segments and associated duties to the satisfaction of the Fleet Training Manager.
