About the Role
This position offers short-term, temporary assignments within the Maintenance, Custodial, or Grounds departments at Chaffey College. The role is essential to supporting the daily operations of the campus, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, employees, and the broader Chaffey community.
Conditions of Employment
A core requirement of this position is the ability and readiness to work in-person on campus. Incumbents will interact regularly with Chaffey students, staff, and partners. Depending on the specific assignment, duties may involve routine repairs to plumbing and electrical systems, drywall work, general cleaning of facilities and restrooms, or grounds maintenance including lawn care and irrigation support.
The work environment may involve exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals, pest control substances, paint fumes, and noise from equipment. Incumbents may also face strenuous physical conditions, including working outdoors in unfavorable weather or in isolated buildings. Successful candidates must be prepared to pass a background check and, depending on the specific role, a functional capacity test (physical agility exam). A valid California Driver's License may also be required.
