This Level III Technician position is designed for a self-starting mechanic with moderate to advanced knowledge of diesel-powered heavy equipment. You will serve as a critical link in our operations, performing inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on complex machinery such as dozers, excavators, and motor graders. Whether working independently or as part of a large project team, your goal is to deliver mechanical services that satisfy customer needs while achieving departmental efficiency and safety goals.
As a mid-level professional with typically four or more years of experience, you will handle a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks. You are expected to model our Values Based Leadership (VBL) principles daily, collaborating with internal and external resources to drive alignment with our vision. This role offers the opportunity to mentor other technicians, participate in specialized training paths like ProTech, and take ownership of your professional development.
You will work in a dynamic environment that includes regular indoor operations around moving mechanical parts and outdoor work subject to weather extremes, including heat, cold, and humidity. The role requires navigating loud noise levels and exposure to chemicals, dust, and high-pressure equipment. Safety is paramount; you must be prepared to work in cramped spaces, climb ladders, maneuver underneath equipment, and wear protective gear at all times. The physical demands include lifting materials up to 50 pounds, maintaining stamina for constant movement, and possessing the manual dexterity to operate controls with precision.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency with computer software, machine electronic systems, and a wide array of hand, pneumatic, and power tools. Familiarity with schematics and diagrams is highly valued. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals who not only possess the technical skills to rebuild and maintain equipment but also the ability to communicate customer needs effectively and manage repair costs. Some travel may be required depending on workload and customer needs.
We are dedicated to fostering a culture where employees model alignment with our core business values. We encourage ongoing self-development and expect all team members to maintain regular and punctual attendance. This position is open to individuals who are ready to work safely, adhere to all company policies, and contribute to a clean, orderly, and efficient workspace.
