The Shift Manager is an hourly position designed to assist management in routine administrative and operational tasks within the restaurant. This role serves as a critical link in maintaining daily excellence, focusing on driving superior customer service, upholding company standards for products and facilities, and rigorously reviewing food handling procedures.\n Shift Managers play a vital part in the operational rhythm of the restaurant. Their human resources responsibilities center on crew training, ongoing coaching, and providing feedback to hourly employees. When management is unavailable, the Shift Manager may assume full responsibility for opening and closing the restaurant. In these instances, they maintain administrative control to ensure smooth operations, though they do not serve in a formal managerial capacity.
Candidates for the Restaurant General Manager track must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED (2 years of college preferred). This role requires 1-2 years of restaurant management experience, a strong understanding of P&L interpretation to influence profitability, and the ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines. Candidates must complete all internal certification programs, possess a valid driver's license with reliable transportation, and be willing to travel. English language proficiency is preferred.
Candidates for the Assistant Manager track must also be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED (some college preferred). This position requires 1 year of experience in the quick service restaurant industry in a management capacity. Candidates must complete all BKC certification programs and demonstrate formal understanding of the quick service industry and core customer needs. Key skills include demonstrating leadership, recognizing and solving routine problems, and developing knowledge of basic tasks and procedures. English language proficiency is required for clear speech expression and comprehension. A valid driver's license, reliable car, and willingness to travel are also required.
