About the Role

The Shift Manager is a pivotal leader who supports the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by running great shifts in a self-sufficient manner. This role is about taking ownership and responsibility to solve problems, seeking help when appropriate, and providing guidance to the team. You will be the face of the restaurant during your shift, ensuring that customer needs are the highest priority while maintaining a neat, clean, and safe environment.

In this position, you will execute the Manager-In-Charge (MIC) Success Routine, overseeing People, Customers, and Service. Your day involves ensuring team members complete their Shift Excellence tasks, demonstrating food safety and quality standards, and resolving customer complaints quickly and politely. You will act as a mentor, providing regular constructive feedback and actively participating in the training of team members. Additionally, you will assist in profit and loss management by following cash control procedures, managing inventory, and overseeing product preparation and facility maintenance.

Hiring Process

We have a strong preference for internal promotions from the Hourly Champion position. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess reliable transportation, and be able to perform basic business math. The role requires the ability to manage subordinate employees, perform physical tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and lifting up to 50 lbs., and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude. Successful candidates must pass a background check and demonstrate the initiative to act without being told while maintaining a high activity level.
