Shift Leader

About the Role

Break Time Shift Leaders are the first step into management at Break Time Convenience Stores. This role is designed for energetic team members who believe it only takes a moment to make a customer's day better. As a Shift Leader, you will assist in the daily management and operations of the store, bridging the gap between customer service excellence and operational efficiency.

You will serve as the face of the store during your shift, ensuring that every customer receives fast, friendly, and courteous service. Beyond customer interactions, you will oversee the financial health of the location, manage shift supervision, and handle necessary paperwork. Whether you are executing food programs, maintaining facility cleanliness, or supervising the team in the absence of the manager, your goal is to keep the store running smoothly and safely.

The Day-to-Day

Your day will be a dynamic mix of customer engagement and operational oversight. You will greet customers warmly, handle transactions accurately, and resolve any complaints quickly. You will also manage the flow of the store during peak hours, ensuring the facility and all equipment remain in good condition.

Operationally, you will assist with daily reporting, banking, inventory management, and fuel management. You will be responsible for merchandising activities, including proper pricing, implementing promotions, and keeping merchandise stocked and presented. In the absence of the manager, you will supervise assigned shifts, help train new employees on company policies, and provide input on performance evaluations.

You will also utilize store technology, including point-of-sale systems and handheld devices, to perform mathematical calculations, complete shift reports, and count products. As a leader, you are expected to exhibit professionalism in appearance and conduct, setting the appropriate example for the team while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.

Hiring Process

Candidates must meet specific requirements to join the team, including being 18 years of age or older, possessing a valid driver's license with adequate insurance for bank deposits, and having flexible availability for all shifts, weekends, and holidays. All employees must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
