About the Role
As a Shift Lead at Walgreens, you serve as the operational backbone of the store, stepping in to manage daily activities in the absence of store management. Day in the Life
Your day involves a dynamic mix of leadership, customer service, and operational oversight. You will be responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling systems, and ensuring the floor and stockroom are prepared for the business day. A key part of your mission is modeling and delivering a positive customer experience by greeting patients and shoppers, offering assistance, and resolving issues proactively.
Beyond customer interactions, you will oversee critical operational tasks such as managing inventory accuracy, assisting with vendor deliveries, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. You will also coach team members on best practices, assist with merchandising and displays, and handle administrative duties like bookkeeping and price verification. Whether assisting at the pharmacy window or ensuring the store remains clean and orderly, your goal is to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
