As the Senior/Principal Lead Delivery Engineer for Industrial, you own customer outcomes for Luminary's engagements with heavy machinery, industrial equipment, HVAC, pumps, turbomachinery, and engineered products companies. You operate as a dual-hat leader—serving as both project manager and product manager—leading a matrixed value delivery team that converts complex customer engineering challenges into Physics AI solutions across structural, thermal, electromagnetic, and multi-physics workloads. Your role is pivotal in partnering with the Go-To-Market (GTM) team to drive account engagement and sustainable growth.
This position is designed for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in ambiguity and values visible, collaborative work. You will not just manage delivery from a distance; you will lead from the front, staying "hands-on-keyboard" where it matters most. Whether debugging a model, restructuring a data pipeline, or prototyping a workflow integration, your goal is to build trust through co-engineering. You will work side-by-side with industrial engineers to develop use cases, ensuring that the solutions you deliver are not just theoretical but are deeply embedded into customer engineering workflows.
You will own the end-to-end customer journey, from initial discovery and use case scoping through model development and deployment. This involves authoring Statements of Work (SOWs), educating customers on engagement plans, and maintaining strict accountability for delivery outcomes. Simultaneously, you will shape the product intuition for what to build next, bringing market and customer signals directly back to Luminary's Product and Research teams to influence the industrial roadmap.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to demonstrate a unique blend of technical depth and leadership agility. The interview process focuses on verifying your ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, your fluency in multi-physics engineering disciplines, and your track record of shipping practical, used solutions rather than just demos. We look for individuals who can credibly explain complex physics models to a chief engineer while simultaneously walking a customer roadmap with Luminary leadership.
Luminary values a self-starter mentality that is comfortable with ambiguity and persistent through iteration. We seek leaders who question what they are asked to do and prioritize what actually moves the needle. Our culture embraces co-engineering and believes that the best solutions come from visible, collaborative work between our delivery teams and our customers. We are committed to building a diverse team where technical credibility and clear communication drive outcomes.
