About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a client seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to support complex lending transactions. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a hands-on, analytical environment and is capable of independently managing deals from the initial review through closing.
The position focuses on leading underwriting for complex credit transactions, including construction and structured finance deals. You will evaluate borrower financials, project budgets, and associated risks while developing and maintaining financial models to support critical underwriting decisions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams across credit, legal, and portfolio management to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
This is an ideal fit for someone with a background in a commercial bank, CDFI, real estate lender, or structured finance firm who is comfortable operating in a mission-driven or impact-focused environment. You will be expected to present analyses clearly and manage multiple deals simultaneously with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.

Requirements

Nice to Have
Exposure to complex capital structures (e.g., tax credits, subsidies, participations). Familiarity with community development or nonprofit lending environments. Knowledge of specialized programs such as NMTC or similar initiatives. Experience with loan management systems (e.g., Loans.net or comparable tools). Background in a commercial bank, CDFI, real estate lender, or structured finance firm. Experience underwriting real estate and development-focused transactions. Comfortable operating in a mission-driven or impact-focused environment.
