Senior Tax Accountant

About the Role

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to provide professional support to a client's Tax Department. This role is designed for a candidate with strong technical expertise and analytical skills who is passionate about ensuring the goals and objectives of Financial Operations are met. The position plays a critical part in maintaining tax compliance and reporting accuracy within a fast-paced, corporate-like environment.

In this role, you will serve as a key partner in the tax compliance lifecycle. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing workpapers, filing returns for sales and use taxes in Florida and Puerto Rico, and managing income tax withholding for Puerto Rico service providers. You will also handle complex filings such as Form 990, 990T, 1041s, and 5500s. Beyond compliance, you will be instrumental in maintaining tax filing software, updating policies and procedures, and disseminating critical tax information through training and meetings across the organization. Occasional travel to other offices or off-campus locations may be required for meetings and conferences.
