The Senior Superintendent I serves as a pivotal leader on-site, responsible for the coordination of project site work activities and the supervision of on-site work teams across multiple or large, complex construction projects. This role demands a professional who can interact effectively with staff at all levels, remaining flexible, resourceful, and proactive in an ever-changing environment.
In this position, you will anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise, bringing creative solutions to the forefront. You will partner closely with Project Managers to manage budgets, forecasts, and resources, while overseeing the daily operations of craft labor, equipment, and materials. A key part of your day involves reviewing construction documents for constructability, coordinating with engineers to resolve discrepancies, and establishing efficient site utilization plans.
Beyond technical oversight, you will foster a culture of teamwork and safety. You are expected to coach, mentor, and train field personnel, including foremen and assistant superintendents, while implementing Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program. The role also requires managing relationships with a wide array of stakeholders, including customers, architects, union representatives, and subcontractors, ensuring a professional and supportive working environment.
