The Senior Superintendent I serves as a pivotal leader on-site, responsible for the coordination of project activities and the supervision of work teams across multiple or large, complex construction projects. This role exists to bridge the gap between planning and execution, requiring a professional who can navigate an ever-changing environment with flexibility, resourcefulness, and efficiency.
In this position, you will anticipate problems and opportunities as they arise, bringing creative solutions to critical issues. Your day-to-day involves managing construction activities, overseeing craft labor, and ensuring that materials, equipment, and inspections align with the project schedule. You will work closely with Project Managers to forecast budgets and manage resources, while also reviewing construction documents for constructability. A key part of your mission is fostering a culture of safety by implementing Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program and nurturing a teamwork environment where field personnel are coached, mentored, and supported.
