About the Role
The Senior SQL Database Administrator IV serves as a critical pillar in the Client's centralized organization, ensuring the stability and performance of a large, complex, and widely distributed Microsoft NT operating system environment. This role is designed for an independent professional who will develop operational standards and procedures while providing total support for national production applications across the United States.
You will interact directly with developers and end users to understand application architectures and resolve complex problems. The position demands a high level of autonomy, requiring you to work with minimal guidance while managing high-visibility, mission-critical aspects of the program. As a senior leader, you may oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources or manage all staff assigned to specific job functions.
Team Context & Environment
This role supports a diverse and complex client production environment that operates 24x7. To ensure continuous availability, the position supports various shifts and may require carrying a pager, being on call, and working varied schedules. The environment involves significant collaboration across DB, application, and infrastructure teams, necessitating excellent oral and written communication skills and a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
Hiring & Application Process
Candidates must successfully pass a client-mandated clearance process, which includes a drug screening, criminal history check, and credit check. Note that the agency is responsible for providing the drug screening once a resume is approved and the interview is passed; failure to submit results will delay the security clearance process. If an interim clearance is granted, continued employment is contingent upon receiving a sensitive clearance.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Candidates must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
- Candidates cannot have traveled outside the United States for more than 6 months within the last five years (military service is excluded; exceptions do not apply to military family members).
Overtime Policy: All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or their designated representative. The agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without this prior written authorization, and authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.
