The Department of Revenue is dedicated to funding Arizona's future through excellence in innovation, exceptional customer service, and public servant-led continuous improvement. As part of the Information Technology Division, the team ensures the reliability and security of the systems that support the state's tax operations.
The Database Administrator serves as a critical guardian of the state's data infrastructure. This role exists to administer, test, and implement database systems while proactively identifying and resolving performance issues. You will work at the intersection of technical execution and strategic planning, coordinating changes to ensure the database ecosystem remains secure, efficient, and aligned with functional requirements.
In this position, you will engage directly with stakeholders to understand their needs, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions. Your day-to-day involves not only troubleshooting production issues and writing complex scripts but also driving continuous improvement by reviewing existing architectures and implementing lean principles within the Arizona Management System. You will play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to a culture of excellence and accountability.
