Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering

About the Team

L3Harris Technologies is seeking Systems Engineers to join a dynamic team in Rochester, NY, dedicated to developing advanced Electro-Optic/Infrared (EO/IR) solutions. The team focuses on the synthesis, definition, analysis, development, integration, and testing of electro-optic systems designed for airborne and ground surveillance missions. Engineers on this team work closely with cross-functional members across engineering, manufacturing, and program management to design, develop, and build high-performance systems that meet critical mission requirements.

About the Role

This role is designed for a Systems Engineer who will drive the definition of total system design and technology while establishing implementation approaches and operational concepts. The position involves creating and updating essential engineering documents, including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations. A key aspect of the day-to-day work is coordinating with other functional engineers to develop and test products, resolve compatibility and interface problems with other subsystems, and provide timely production support and problem resolution. Success in this role requires a strong ability to plan and organize projects, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel.
