About the Role

Amazon prioritizes health, safety, and well-being above all else. To support this mission, we are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. In this position, you will partner with site-level operations teams to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations.

By leveraging lean principles and Kaizen events, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks in Amazon's processes. Your goal is to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates. This role requires building trust and confidence with cross-functional operations teams, influencing change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis, and serving as an effective communicator who delivers clear, concise, and consistent messages both verbally and in writing.

As a senior leader in the WHS organization, you will be responsible for developing a team of safety managers and professionals at your designated site. Your success will depend on your ability to create and execute leadership development plans, clearly communicate organizational direction, and assess safety talent to select appropriate bench strength for current and future business needs. You will also instruct and train operations leadership and site WHS professionals in company EHS policies while assisting regional teams in incorporating safety standards at their sites.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 49 pounds, frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, as well as stand or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts. Employees must be prepared to continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable and maintain effective care delivery during emergencies, including assisting with emergency response at the site. A valid Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required within three weeks of the start date.

Hiring Process
