Building on more than a decade of impactful work, our unique approach blends applied and experimental research, philanthropy, and education programs rooted in evidence-based best practices.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Senior Research Operations Manager to play a key role in the operational success of our research team. This hands-on position combines team management, strategy, and operations, reporting directly to the Research Director. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep experience with research operations, and a passion for applied educational research.

In this role, you will partner with the Research Director to develop and refine the team's vision, long-term planning, and research priorities. You will manage the Research Systems Manager, oversee the creation and maintenance of project management systems, and handle all vendor relationships. A significant part of your day will involve facilitating team meetings and retreats, monitoring the progress of research projects against goals, and managing hand-off points with other internal departments. You will also mentor PhD-level researchers across diverse fields such as psychology, economics, and machine learning, ensuring they are prepared to execute research with complex operational needs. Additionally, you will collaborate with our Program pillar to ensure appropriate risk and safety considerations are met for projects involving youth.

Hiring Process

The interview process consists of the following steps:

  1. Zoom audio interview (1 hour)
  2. Zoom video interview with research team members (1.5 hours)
  3. If needed, Zoom video interview with org leadership (30 to 45 mins)

Location & Eligibility

This is a full-time, in-person position based in the greater Seattle area, Washington State. Candidates must live in Washington State and be eligible to work in the United States; we cannot sponsor visa applications. To protect our staff, partners, and the youth we serve, all employees are required to adhere to our masking and COVID testing policies when working in person.
