This is a full-time, night shift Registered Nurse position located at Parkland (12th Floor, Block 600). As a licensed professional, you will serve as the coordinator of patient care delivery for the healthcare team, utilizing the Parkland nursing professional practice model. Your primary focus is to guide patients through their healthcare encounter, ensuring a smooth transition without preventable complications or delays.
You will apply the nursing process to assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized plans of care. This role requires exercising independent judgment to delegate interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, the specific condition of each patient, and the competencies of the staff. You will provide continuous assessment and consult with team members to deliver patient-centered care that aligns with established protocols and clinical standards.
Beyond direct patient care, you will play a key role in operational excellence by identifying ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction. You are expected to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field through seminars, professional journals, and active participation in professional organizations, integrating this knowledge into daily practices. Additionally, you may be required to serve as a preceptor, lead in-service educational programs, and rotate as a Charge Nurse, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills with patients, families, and hospital staff.
