About the Role

Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a client in Cleveland to find a Senior Property Accountant who will operate at a strategic level. Rather than focusing on transactional accounting tasks, this position serves as a reviewer and advisor, overseeing financial reporting and analysis across multiple properties and entities. The role is designed to identify variances, uncover trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership to drive better financial decision-making.

The work environment is described as business casual, laid back, and relatively quiet, offering a space where deep analytical work can thrive. You will act as a bridge between the client's internal teams and third-party fee managers, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all financial reporting packages. This is an opportunity to partner with Asset Management, Finance, and Development teams to shape budgets, forecasts, and annual financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

check_circlePerform month-end and year-end close processes including reviewing and monitoring journal entries
check_circleAnalyze financial statements across multiple properties to identify variances, trends, and red flags
check_circlePerform account reconciliations and conduct balance sheet and income statement analysis
check_circleOversee cash management activities including establishing bank accounts and reviewing reconciliations
check_circleReview property and portfolio-level reporting packages prepared by third-party fee managers
check_circlePartner with Asset Management to track actual results against budgets and reforecasts
check_circleSupport the preparation of year-end financials for properties and holding companies prior to K-1 issuance
check_circleCollaborate with Finance and Asset Management teams to develop and review annual budgets and forecasts
check_circleAssist with year-end audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
check_circleMonitor timeliness of key financial obligations including real estate taxes, mortgage payments, and distributions
check_circleSupport onboarding of new properties including coordination with teams and review of trial balances
check_circleMaintain relationships with third-party fee managers to ensure consistent communication and reporting standards

Requirements
