About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager in Electronic Security Systems (ESS), you will serve as the primary interface for clients, developing strong long-term relationships by managing expectations, communications, and satisfaction. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle for large-scale, complex ESS projects, from initiation to closure. Your core mission is to ensure the successful delivery of physical security systems—including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter solutions—by aligning cross-functional teams and driving decision-making with subject matter expertise.
This role requires a unique blend of technical depth and leadership. You will act as the accountable owner of assigned projects, exercising direct control over cost, quality, and schedule. By leveraging a strong understanding of general construction sequencing, you will identify and quantify risks to support proactive planning. Your day-to-day involves coordinating system programming, final checkouts, and commissioning to ensure systems are fully operational and ready for client handover. You will also partner with site supervisors and general contractors to manage work plans, resolve punch lists, and facilitate turnover training sessions.
While the position is virtual on a day-to-day basis, it requires significant on-site presence within the US-Cedar Rapids, IA region. You will spend approximately 70-90% of your travel time visiting local client sites (within a 2-hour driving distance), with occasional longer trips. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids, with relocation assistance available. The role involves regular exposure to construction site conditions, including hospital and medical facilities, requiring adherence to safety regulations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
