About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager in Electronic Security Systems (ESS), you will serve as the primary interface for clients, building strong long-term relationships while managing expectations, communications, and satisfaction. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle—from initiation to closure—ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale, complex physical security systems. This includes closed-circuit television (CCTV), electronic access control, intrusion detection alarms, and perimeter security solutions.
Your day-to-day work involves leading the delivery of these systems by managing implementation, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring strict compliance with specifications, timelines, and quality standards. You will act as the central point of accountability for project management activities, driving decision-making and aligning internal and external stakeholders. A key part of your mission is to proactively identify and mitigate construction-related risks, monitor financial health to prevent margin erosion, and ensure projects remain profitable and on schedule.
Work Environment & Location
This position is primarily virtual on a day-to-day basis but requires significant on-site presence within the US-Cedar Rapids, IA region. You will spend approximately 70-90% of your time traveling locally to client sites (within a 2-hour driving distance each way) and up to 25% of your time on travel overall. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids, IA; relocation assistance is available.
The role involves regular exposure to construction site conditions, including hospital and medical facilities. You will be responsible for your own safety on-site, complying with all General Contractor regulations and using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The environment may require spending at least 40% of your time on your feet, climbing ladders, and moving materials up to 20 pounds. A valid driver's license in your state of residence is required.
