About the Role

This senior-level position serves as a critical hub for the City of Marco Island's stormwater drainage, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure development efforts. The role is designed to plan, coordinate, and implement complex public capital improvements while ensuring strict adherence to City, State, and Federal regulations. Operating with a high degree of independence, the incumbent provides technical oversight, grant administration, and construction coordination to safeguard the city's water quality and transportation systems.

The day-to-day scope involves managing the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program, analyzing surface water quality data, and administering state and federal grants. The role acts as a bridge between technical engineering teams, regulatory agencies, and city leadership, requiring the ability to confer on complex funding and project implementation issues. The incumbent also provides technical guidance and training to staff, ensuring the department maintains high standards of engineering practice and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Proficiency in preparing slide presentations, using permitting software, and working with GIS applications. Proficiency in traffic control operations and troubleshooting. Stormwater operator and inspection training/certification.
