About the Role
This position serves as a critical leadership hub for the district's water and wastewater infrastructure. The role exists to ensure the reliable design, construction, and operation of complex water supply, distribution, treatment, and collection systems. You will bridge the gap between technical engineering execution and effective team management, driving both operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
In this capacity, you will manage a team of engineers and staff, fostering a culture of peak productivity through targeted counseling, training, and performance development. Your day-to-day involves overseeing work allocation, resolving complex engineering challenges, and guiding the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and cost analyses. Beyond technical oversight, you will play a key role in financial stewardship by administering annual budgets and identifying external funding opportunities to support capital and operations projects.
The role also demands active engagement with the community and regulatory bodies. You will represent the district at public meetings, address customer inquiries, and ensure strict adherence to environmental permits and discharge regulations. By maintaining robust system databases and updating operation manuals, you will help sustain the long-term resilience of the district's essential services.

Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma or GED Certificate
- verifiedBachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- verified3 years experience in Construction or Civil Engineering specific to water supply, water distribution, water treatment, wastewater treatment and wastewater systems
- verified3 years supervisory experience
- verifiedValid Driver's License
- verifiedEngineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) registration desired
- verifiedExperience in AutoCAD and Engineering software applications desired
