CMTA, a Legence company, is a dynamic engineering firm dedicated to delivering energy-efficient building solutions. Our plumbing engineering team thrives on resolving complex technical challenges and assisting clients in bringing their visions to life. We value self-motivated individuals who are eager to lead projects from inception to completion while fostering strong relationships with owners, architects, and contractors.
As a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Designer, you will be the technical anchor for our energy-efficient projects in Charlotte. This onsite role exists to ensure the seamless integration of plumbing, pressurized gases, and fire protection systems into building designs. You will not only execute high-level design work but also mentor staff engineers, guiding them on appropriate design strategies and code compliance.
Your day-to-day involves interpreting blueprints and schematics to determine preliminary water requirements, selecting equipment, and conducting rigorous calculations for piping layouts. You will serve as a key liaison during meetings with clients and architects, translating technical constraints into actionable solutions. A significant part of your mission is to evaluate contractor submittals and shop drawings, ensuring every component conforms to contract documents and applicable codes. By researching design specifications and analyzing feasibility, you will help shape projects that balance performance, cost, and maintenance needs.
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering and over a decade of specialized experience. If you are proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD and have a track record of direct client interaction and project management, we invite you to apply. Please submit your resume and portfolio to our Charlotte office to join our team.
