The Tax Counsel and Tax Segment Planning groups serve as business-facing tax planning units dedicated to proactively supporting operations, mitigating tax risks, and achieving tax efficiencies. These groups align their work with the overall Disney brand and reputation, collaborating directly with operations, legal affairs, business affairs, corporate legal functions (including litigation, anti-trust, and IP), labor, and various other internal stakeholders.
This position supports the team in managing high-value, high-volume production credit transfer and sale agreements while ensuring rigorous compliance with tax authority requirements. You will play a key role in the legal entity liquidation process, document management, and the administration of professional services billing for large-scale projects.
Your day-to-day involves proofreading and drafting legal documents such as license agreements and liquidation papers, performing cite checks on case law and precedents, and managing the Bates stamp process for summons responses. You will also maintain online legal agreement databases in SharePoint, ensuring metadata is current and functional for licensee details, choice of law, and termination provisions. Candidates will be evaluated based on their relevant work experience, ability to build relationships with tax and non-tax cast members, and proficiency in legal research and document drafting. The role requires a strong understanding of SharePoint and electronic filing systems.
