This position serves as a vital support pillar for our litigation attorneys, ensuring the efficient operation of the legal department. The paralegal will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of probate and foreclosure litigation cases, acting as the primary liaison between the firm, clients, courts, and opposing counsel. The role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where confidentiality and accuracy are paramount.
In this capacity, you will oversee the attorney's complex caseload, managing critical court calendars, filing deadlines, and hearing schedules. Your day-to-day involves coordinating the filing of complaints, motions, and orders across federal and Texas state courts, utilizing systems like ECF/Pacer and various e-filing platforms. You will also facilitate communication through client portals such as Black Knight and Legal Tracker, ensuring that borrowers, defendants, and clients receive timely and professional updates.
Beyond administrative coordination, you will play a key role in the substantive preparation of legal matters. This includes drafting initial pleadings, assisting with complex motions, managing discovery requests, and preparing exhibits for trial. You will also handle the financial aspects of case management, ensuring fees and costs are accurately tracked and billed according to client-firm agreements. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate multiple data systems, maintain rigorous file organization, and provide high-quality support that allows attorneys to focus on strategic legal advocacy.
