About the Role
Step into a senior leadership position within our Enterprise Networking & Security team, where you will support a complex, multi-faceted network environment. This role is designed for a hands-on NOC Lead or Senior Network Engineer who thrives in high-stakes situations, bridging the gap between technical execution and operational strategy.
As the Senior Network Operations Lead, you will serve as the primary escalation point for critical network issues, guiding the team through complex troubleshooting scenarios involving security, routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, data center, and cloud networking. Your day will involve leading P1/P2 bridge calls, coordinating incident responses, and driving root cause analysis to prevent future disruptions. Beyond technical oversight, you will mentor L1 and L2 engineers, refine operational processes, and collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to enhance long-term network reliability.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Grand Rapids, MI, requiring a commitment of 3 days onsite per week to foster team collaboration and operational readiness. The position is structured as an 18+ month contract, offering the opportunity to lead significant improvements in network visibility and operational standards within a dynamic enterprise setting.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead day-to-day NOC operations and provide technical guidance to L1/L2 engineers
- check_circleServe as the senior escalation point for complex network issues and hardware failures
- check_circleOversee responses to network alerts, performance issues, and service interruptions
- check_circleLead and coordinate P1/P2 bridge calls including troubleshooting direction and stakeholder communication
- check_circlePerform root cause analysis for recurring network issues and recommend preventive measures
- check_circleImprove monitoring, incident response, documentation, and escalation procedures
- check_circleDevelop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, incident reports, and operational standards

Requirements
- verifiedExtensive experience in network operations, network engineering, or NOC leadership
- verifiedProven experience leading or mentoring L1/L2 NOC engineers
- verifiedAbility to work onsite in a hybrid model (3 days onsite per week)
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Preferred)
- verifiedCertifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, Palo Alto, CISSP, or equivalent (Preferred)
Nice to Have
Experience with ACI / VXLAN Fabrics. Experience with Azure or GCP cloud networking. Experience with F5 load balancing. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, Palo Alto, CISSP, or equivalent. Experience supporting enterprise-scale network environments. Experience with data center networking, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and network security operations.
