The Senior Middleware Engineer serves as a critical technical owner for enterprise integration initiatives, bridging the gap between business requirements and scalable, robust middleware architectures. This role is designed for a specialist who takes full ownership of integrations from the initial design phase through to ongoing production support, ensuring high availability and performance for business-critical systems.
In this position, you will operate at the intersection of architecture and operations. You are expected to provide technical leadership on middleware projects, evaluating and recommending technologies and best practices that align with the organization's strategic goals. The role demands a deep understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP), Message Exchange Patterns, and Canonical Data Models to translate complex business needs into efficient, scalable solutions.
Your work will center on the administration and optimization of the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Axway MFT environments. You will be responsible for managing middleware upgrades, patching, maintenance, and performance tuning within enterprise production environments. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to troubleshooting production incidents, resolving integration failures, and implementing robust monitoring, logging, and security policies.
You will collaborate closely with Architects, Developers, Infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to drive enterprise initiatives. This includes coordinating with vendors, QA, and release management during deployments and leading integration efforts to resolution with minimal supervision. Documentation of integrations, configurations, and support procedures is a key component of maintaining system integrity and knowledge transfer.
Candidates must possess recent, hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Axway MFT, along with a proven track record of architecture and design responsibilities. The recruitment process focuses heavily on verifying expertise in enterprise integration ownership, API management, and production support skills.
