Join Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group and be part of a team driving the future of clean, carbon-free energy. Since 1954, we've been a trusted leader in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing. Our expertise spans small modular reactors (SMRs), advanced reactor technology (ART), and first-of-a-kind commercial reactor restart projects. We support life extensions and digital modernization of existing nuclear plants, coal-to-nuclear conversion initiatives with the Department of State, and international nuclear new-build projects. With a commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability, we provide cutting-edge solutions that power communities worldwide while reducing emissions.
In this position, you will be a key contributor to nuclear power plant systems design, preparing and reviewing modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses that support plant operations. You will also handle technical specifications, procurement documents, and vendor bid evaluations, while conducting studies to evaluate modification options for operating plants.
Beyond technical execution, you will have the opportunity to develop engineering cost estimates for client-requested work scopes and visit client offices or plant sites to interface directly with stakeholders and present engineering status updates. A core expectation of this role is to lead engineering project teams, guiding others in taking engineering problems from issue to solution. You will set expectations for using data and modern tools—such as automation and AI—to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. This includes directing automation and process-improvement work, such as automating calculations or generating design documentation, while ensuring all AI-enabled outputs are rigorously checked.
Please note that we do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply directly to join our team.
