Capital One's Alternative Renewable Energy team is a specialized unit within the Underwriting and Portfolio Management organization. The Line of Business focuses primarily on Tax Equity transactions in the Alternative Renewables sector, including wind, solar, storage, and other forms of renewable investment. The team works closely with internal partners to underwrite new transactions and manage an existing portfolio of Tax Equity deals. Our mission is to balance supporting the Commercial Bank's growth with ensuring we maintain a scalable, well-managed business.
As a Senior Manager (VP) for the Alternative Renewable Energy team, you will serve as a deep subject matter expert in credit risk management and commercial lending for this specific line of business. This role is designed for a professional who can operate autonomously while also playing a leadership role across deal teams, guiding and shaping less experienced associates.
You will be trusted to complete complex transactions and solve unique problems using your experience and job-specific skills. Your day-to-day involves supporting the Alternative Renewable Energy, Underwriting, and Portfolio Management team by drawing conclusions on material risks, anticipating performance drivers, and applying industry research to share key takeaways. You will leverage deep expertise in industry trends to present findings to senior management, review financial models with complex structures, and propose appropriate structuring options. Additionally, you will oversee the closing process, negotiate provisions of term sheets and commitment letters, and ensure portfolio data remains accurate and timely for strong reporting capabilities.
Beyond technical execution, you will build relationships across functions to foster collaboration, interact directly with customers to cultivate strong relationships, and mentor rotational analysts and new hires. You will also participate in internal initiatives to ensure the business operates efficiently and remains compliant with credit policies.
