Capital One's Alternative Renewable Energy team is a specialized unit within the Underwriting and Portfolio Management organization, focused primarily on Tax Equity transactions in the renewable sector, including wind, solar, storage, and other investment forms. The team operates at the intersection of commercial banking growth and rigorous risk management, working closely with internal partners to underwrite new transactions and manage an existing portfolio of complex tax equity deals.
As a Senior Manager (VP) on this team, you will serve as a deep subject matter expert in credit risk management and commercial lending. You will be trusted to autonomously execute complex transactions and solve unique problems, while also playing a leadership role by guiding less experienced associates and shaping deal teams. Your work ensures the business remains scalable and well-managed while supporting the Commercial Bank's strategic growth.
In this capacity, you will act as a key driver for the Alternative Renewable Energy line of business. Your day-to-day involves balancing the support of new transaction origination with the stewardship of the existing portfolio. You will leverage deep expertise in industry trends and market analysis to present findings to senior management, anticipating questions during deal review and approval meetings.
You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of transactions, from compiling due diligence to draw conclusions on material risks and performance drivers, to independently writing credit approval documents and overseeing closing processes. Additionally, you will lead quarterly portfolio reviews, prepare watch and criticized reports, and ensure data accuracy to maintain strong reporting capabilities. Beyond technical execution, you will build cross-functional relationships, interact directly with customers to cultivate strong partnerships, and mentor rotational analysts and new hires to foster a collaborative and efficient business environment.
Candidates are expected to apply through the official Capital One careers portal. The role is open for a minimum of 5 business days. Please note that Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position at this time.
