The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer is a critical support role focused on the installation, testing, and implementation of new z/OS operating systems and other system software. This position is distinct from applications programming; it centers on the maintenance, debugging, monitoring, and tuning of systems software. You will serve as a subject matter expert for z/OS components and supporting systems, including tape management, scheduling, security, and monitoring tools.
In this role, you will handle incident, change, and problem resolution while managing configuration, customization, and parameter setup. You will communicate directly with vendors and contribute to technical projects, requiring a solid understanding of z/OS, PARMLIB configuration, and JES2 customization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of remaining stress-resistant during major incidents or emergency situations while collaborating effectively within a team.
To ensure new Associates are set up for success, we have designed a structured evaluation process. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they meet some, but not all, of the other qualifications. If you need accommodation at any point during the application or interview process, please contact your recruiter or email USTalentAcquisition@ensono.com.
