About the Role
The Senior Loss Mitigation Underwriter serves as the senior-level expert within the job family, handling the most complex underwriting files while actively assisting in the training and growth of junior underwriters. In this remote role, you will operate under general supervision to make sound underwriting decisions that strictly adhere to Treasury, Company, and Investor guidelines, as well as all applicable US state and federal laws.
Your day-to-day involves performing thorough analyses to ensure loan quality and compliance. You will verify income, occupancy, and hardship details, calculate debt-to-income ratios, and apply payment waterfalls to determine workout eligibility, including repayment plans, forbearances, loan modifications, or liquidation options. As a subject matter expert, you will also assist in processing loans acquired from prior servicers, identify borrower liquid assets, and communicate necessary conditions to properly document files. Ultimately, you will document final decisions and update the system of record to ensure every action meets legal and policy requirements.

Requirements
