About the Opportunity
A global insurer is seeking a specialized Trucking Insurance Underwriter to join its Commercial Lines Program. This role focuses on the Excess Surplus sector, offering a unique chance to work within a specialty program dedicated to the trucking and transportation industry. The position is based in Milwaukee, WI, with the possibility of remote work from home.
The Role
As a key member of the underwriting team, you will serve as the primary analyst for trucking accounts. Your mission involves reviewing and analyzing complex underwriting documents to make informed decisions on approving or rejecting applications. You will be responsible for identifying and minimizing the impact of changes in exposure to risk, ensuring the company maintains a healthy portfolio.
In this capacity, you will oversee the progress of compliance with recommended loss mitigation actions and evaluate account premium levels. A critical part of your day will involve interpreting contracts and policies to determine specific exposures and advising the Claims department on coverage issues. This role requires a deep understanding of how large deductibles and complex coverage features impact pricing and risk.
