About the Role
This opportunity entails being responsible for daily inspection efforts on multiple complex, large, and/or diverse projects. You will serve as a critical link between project plans and on-site execution, ensuring that construction activities align with schedules, contract documents, and specifications. The role involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm of inspecting, observing, and documenting work in progress, while also advising contractor superintendents on necessary actions to ensure conformance. Beyond technical verification, you will prepare daily and weekly reports, review pay estimates for accuracy, and produce as-constructed sketches to support field engineers making project changes. In some instances, you may also participate in the mentoring, development, and evaluation of staff inspectors.
Location and Schedule
This position is based in Virginia, with locations including Arlington (Alexandria), Fredericksburg, Glen Allen (Richmond), Salem, and Virginia Beach. The role requires the ability to work a shift schedule and/or flexible schedules as required to support the workload. You must be willing to work in various environments, including inclement weather, heights, confined spaces, and marine environments.
